The Toowoomba Budgerigar Club is unique
with such a wide geographic spread of membership. Our
members stretch as far west as Charleville, south into
NSW while the majority of members are within a 2-hour
radius of Toowoomba, such as Dalby, Darling Downs,
Lockyer Valley, South Burnett and Warwick.
The Club meets monthly and mostly focusses
our get togethers during an aviary visit as we recognise
our members simply want to catch up, share ideas and
questions and primarily simply look at birds.
Table shows and birds for sale are some of
the activities conducted during our meetings, while our
Executive Committee covers our direction, event
organisation and communication.
We host two shows each year in March/April
and October that attracts around 400 birds from both our
membership and southeast Qld.
Our shows are an opportunity to compare
our birds with other members and other clubs.
Toowoomba Club is recognised for our
friendly members, who are always willing to assist
others, and our strength and quality of exhibition
budgies as we regularly enjoy success at shows.
Toowoomba has won the club challenge for the past two
years at the ‘Futures Show’ and many Toowoomba Club
birds feature in the SQ Team each year and travel to the
